Rama: Dog Star Warrior
Guardian of the Spirit Path
“All men know of him, for he is self-controlled, mighty, radiant, steadfast and masterful. He is wise and grounded in proper conduct. Eloquent and majestic, he annihilates his enemies.” — “Boyhood” 1.5-1.10
Rama
She spoke of him in the most rapturous of terms, which I discounted at first, thinking it just the hyperbole of love. But then I saw his chart.
Note to the reader: In this piece, we will look at Minor Planets for the names and localities, and most importantly, for the constellation of influences in effect at his death. When the time came, the MPs were there, in full force and with astonishing clarity. Readers who are new to Minor Planet Astrology may find this introduction helpful: Minor Planet Basics.
He was her “special man”, an Alaskan-born Dogo Argentino and long time resident of Ithaca, NY. Moon placement reflects a 12:00 p.m. midpoint for the day, as his TOB is unknown. See the dignity, ebullience, strength and grace in the figures:
Fiery Solunar pair: Leo Moon trine Aries Sun Uranus in opposition to Mars: Rama was exceptionally strong and athletic, unusually quick-footed for such a large dog.
Uranus T-square to his exalted Jupiter in Cancer opposition Pluto: he was a dynamo, and if not for Anjani’s exceptional dedication to his training, he would have been impossible to handle.
Saturn and Pluto exchange: enduring strength, indomitable will.
Pisces Chiron Yod: discussed further down.
Exalted Venus, ruler of his Mars sextile Moon: confers both grace and dignity
Names
Rama’s human companion, Anjani, a name given her by her spiritual teacher, was born Michelle. Her chart angles, and those for the moment of death, are the only ones we will use, as Rama’s TOB is unknown. Let’s start with their synastry, adding the MP name designators “Raman”, “Anjani”, and “Michelle”, with orbs < 1°:
Rama “Raman” (blue) on his own Sun: In Vedic lore, Rama is an avatar of Vishnu, who is Himself the Sun.
Anjani “Raman” (red) on her MC: he is the light of her life.
Anjani “Michelle” T-squares Rama “Michelle” on his North Node: bespeaks their commingled dharma, or destiny.
Anjani “Anjani” on Rama Mars: she plays into his primary energetic patterns, shown in Fig. 1, where Mars is key.
Rama “Anjani” sextile Anjani Jupiter: very nice.
Thus, all three of their name MPs are tightly placed, share mutual aspects and are thematically appropriate.
Places
No stranger to the Great North Woods, Rama was born in Alaska and lived in Ithaca, NY, home of Cornell University. Both MP “Alaska” and “Cornell” show significant placement, as does “Argentina”, the place name of his breed, Dogo Argentino. See their precise alignments:
Rama “Argentina” on Anjani Uranus opposition Chiron: Did he resonate with the “the rebellious disruptor” in her?
Anjani “Cornell” on Rama’s Sun “Raman” square his “Alaska”: Anjani brought Rama to Ithaca, home of Cornell University, from his home in Alaska.
If this were all there was to Rama’s story, I would not be telling it, but things are about to get very interesting for those readers who want to see how astrology can indicate the nature of a Soul’s passage home, albeit in a different way than we saw in Cloud Men. However, the real reason I wrote about Rama is for the Battle astrology his charts show. We will now look at both of these themes. Please read on.
Rama’s Good Death
Anjani, a medical doctor, called one day to tell me that Rama was ill with cancer. She was heart-broken, but together they planned to make the best of his remaining time. It was then that I asked for his date of birth, thinking it might ease her heart a bit if we looked at their synastry.
I was not prepared, however, for the elegance of the natal astrology, shown in Fig. 1. Like most things of beauty and strength, it was eloquent and spare. No wasted motion. But when, sometime later, I prepared the chart of his passing, it was simply breathtaking:
Born with a Pisces Chiron Yod to his Moon sextile Mars, see how at the moment death, Rama integrated whatever “crisis of faith” he may have had in favor of action:
Death Chiron on his natal Sun “Raman”: the natal “crisis of faith” has become the “urgent battle”, as Chiron joins his Aries Sun opposition Mars near his NN.
Rama Mars “Michelle” NN: Anjani had helped him accomplish this mission.
Graceful and powerful to the very end, Rama made his exit with the spiritual authority of his exalted Jupiter Sirius Pluto to Uranus. Take a moment to appreciate the elegant perfection in the astrology of his departure.
Big Dog Star
Based upon my assessment of his astrology, Rama’s death shows him to be a Guardian on the Spirit Path home. Turn your attention now to Sirius, α. Canis Majoris, and the transits to Rama’s natal Jupiter at the time of his death:
Death MC with Balsamic Moon Sun align on Sirius, the Dog Star, activating his natal Uranian T-square to Jupiter Pluto: straight as an arrow and ready to go, Rama makes one last energetic leap in the direction of the Great Dog Star Sirius.
Rama “White” and Death “Raman” on Sirius: Sirius is known as the “White Star” to many Turtle Island peoples, and as the "Guardian on the Path of Souls" to the Cherokee, which Vedic tradition holds Rama to be.
Now, let’s consider Rama’s NN:
Rama “Wolff” on his NN
In Chinese and Japanese cosmology, Sirius is the “Star of the Celestial Wolf”, while to the Pawnee it is both the "Wolf Star" and the "White Star". They knew the Wolf would escort deceased tribal members along the "Spirit Pathway" (the Milky Way).
A Dogon Dogo
In his book, The Sirius Mystery, Robert Temple tells the story of the Dogon people in Mali whose tribal tradition preserves the account of their Egyptian origin where they were taught by the Nommos, the amphibious creatures from Sirius. The Dogon are not alone is this. Oannes, the Sumerian Fish God, and Isis, with her fishtailed headdress, carry parts of the story, as well.
Marcel Griaule, the French ethnologist who visited the Dogon in the 1930’s, was told by the priests that Sirius was a binary star, whose companion’s orbital period, unknown to Western astronomers at that time, was fifty years. This later proved to be accurate.
Rama “Dogen”, Sun, and “Raman” (blue), conjunct within 34’ of arc: now we will watch as Rama claims his path to Sirius.
As you can see, Rama had connections to Sirius in every important aspect of his chart, and, even more magnificently so, at his death.
Goodbye
Rama left at 1:08 local time on July 5, 2024, making the perfect exit for a Great White Dogo named for an avatar of Vishnu.
Sage advice: Chant the name of Rama to overcome the evils of the Kali Yuga.
A Warrior at the Eschaton
As an avatar of Vishnu, Rama was destined to defeat Ravana, the evil Rakshasa. The spark for their fateful battle was the kidnapping of Rama's wife, the beautiful Sita.
Here, on the day of Rama’s death, MP Raksha steps forward, in the company of MP Beksha, to do battle with Rama, orbs < 1°. Let’s see how that worked out for them.
The MPs Beksha and “Raksha” are clearly engaged. See the Parallel Yod. Rama’s NN Beksha “Wolff” (blue) reminds us that this is his dharma. Note the forming Medusa Stellium which culminated in the Butler Event a week later.
But where is Sita?
In this life, Rama’s mate was a lovely white Dogo named Star-Sita.
She appears, quite appropriately, on Rama’s NN “Michelle”, with “Anjani”, “Starr” and “Sita” prominently placed in the various synastry combinations:
Forces of the Demiurge
A final note to those who follow my research on MP Beksha. The Beks were the “Khazarian War Chiefs”. Beksha, a hitherto unused MP, seems to represent the cold, anti-human forces loyal to the Demiurge. Based upon the character of its debut at Butler, I continue to test my hypothesis that this could represent the Khazarian Mafia.
In this regard, Rama’s chart has brought forward a new malefactor, MP “Raksha”, to represent the Evil Rakshasas.
On the day of Rama’s death, both MPs Beksha and “Raksha” teamed up to give it their best shot. Their Parallel Yod tried to tangle with Rama’s indomitable Saturn exchange Pluto. But see how his Saturn fought back.
Did Rama’s Saturn best his foes? Did death free him to continue the fight against Evil?
If so, the Khazarian War Chiefs and the Rakshasas will never know what hit them.
In closing, I wish to thank Rama’s family for allowing me the privilege of representing his marvelous being on this page. I hope they will recognize their beloved Rama in the pictures I’ve drawn from his astrology, and that my attempt to give his chart a voice will, in some small way, be a comfort to them.
Thank you, Rama, for the gift of your stars.
