Jimi Hendrix, for my brother
On the morning of September 18, 1970, Monika Dannesen awoke in her apartment at London’s Samarkand Hotel to find her bedmate deceased beside her. And with that, the high alchemical music of Jimi Hendrix was gone from this world.
St Mary Abbots Hospital judged the cause of death to be an accident, due to “asphyxiation from a barbiturate overdose”.

Known for his unorthodox style, his guitar of choice was the iconic pre-CBS Stratocaster, considered the most influential guitar of all time. Although left-handed, he played the right-handed model, upside-down and restrung for a left-handed grip, which reversed the pickups and string tension, adding to his unique sound.
For those wishing to do more research, I will point out there are two Minor Planets available to represent his Stratocasters. Normally, I would use the stronger of the two, but, for reason of the multitude of Strats he played and their equal strength across the analysis, I feel the use of both is justified.

To call him “innovative” would be an understatement. Jimi was born with an Aquarian South Node in the 3rd, North Node conjunct Regulus, the “Heart of the Lion”, and nodal dispositors, Sun and Uranus, in perfect opposition, a very strong placement.

I have found that the IC and nodes of a death chart are very often significant, as if forming an exit ramp for the departing Soul. We can see their importance in Jimi’s death synastry, accompanied by both MP Angels.

My research with MP Morpheus has shown it to be a valid indicator of both dreams and drugs, not to mention international shenanigans. At the time of Jimi’s death, transiting MP Morpheus was making its return to its natal position opposite natal Moon MP Thananon, giving us, coincidentally, the first test of MP Thananon to represent death.

Death MP Truth on JIMI Jupiter Moon MP Thananon: seems to second that interpretation, affirming the drug overdose as cause of death
MP Porta Coeli, which means “Gate of Heaven”, was also making a return to its natal placement, with DEATH MP Thananon opposing by transit.
DEATH MP Thananon opposite both MP Porta Coeli’s: seems to indicate where the Angel is taking him, “high over yonder”, through Heaven’s Gate.

Monika’s Death
